This week at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, we have a (FREE) event going on every night! Here’s what we have to look forward to:
Tonight we have Sing Speak, a collaboration between one of NPR’s best artists of 2012 Kishi Bashi and poet, author, and NYU Gallatin performance poetry professor Brian Omni Dillon.
Then, join us tomorrow as Matt Kepnes (aka Nomadic Matt) talks with NY Times travel writer Matt Gross about How to Travel the World on $50 a Day.
Wednesday we have the launch party for the first issue of literary magazine The Atlas Review! The evening will feature poems, fiction, and music from the magazine’s contributors. Check out the event page for a full list of readers.
On Thursday get weird with The OkCupid Show: Stories of Love, Sex, and the Internet. Hosted by comedian Adam Jacobson (CHESTER) and writer and storyteller Michelle Markowitz (The Hairpin, nytimes.com), the show will feature special guests Ryan O’Connell (Thought Catalog), comedian Charla Louriston, Lauran Bans (GQ), and Steve Heisler (The A.V. Club, Variety).
Friday as usual stop by for The Slush Pile happy hour. Grab a grilled cheese and a beer and catch up on some end-of-the-week reading or board game-playing.
Finally on Saturday, join the International Crime Book Group as they discuss Cara Black’s Parisian mystery Murder in the Marais.
